What’s the plan?

Croydon Council are inviting the Purley Community to create a plan that can be used to shape the future of Purley Town Centre and its immediate surroundings. The plan will be used to help influence developers, and to seek funding for local projects.Purley has experienced significant change in recent years, it has seen increasing levels of housing, and further change is likely to put more pressure on the area. A number of key local sites have been under review for major development in the town centre and there is the potential for more in the pipeline. This plan is an important opportunity to ensure that future change is managed in a way that benefits the local community and provides current and future residents and businesses with the community facilities, transport and public spaces needed. 

Local Plan Review

The Croydon Local Plan 2018 is currently under review. This work is another opportunity for local feedback on what’s important when considering further development in Purley to be included in the Purley Chapter of the plan.

Covid-19 impacts on this project

We’ve designed this project in a way that allows us to involve the community during the current restrictions. The timing of this research will help us to also understand some of the Covid-19 impacts on the local community, and the ideas people have to support residents and businesses as we start to respond and adapt to the new environment we find ourselves in.
